“Classic Regional Cooking Courses
in the French Countryside, Spectacular Views,
Picturesque Villages, Local Delicacies”

Program, Timing, General Information

Upon your arrival in Lyon, your private driver will be waiting for you at the Saint Exupery airport or at the Lyon Central Train Station. On the evening of the group’s arrival, we will dine in the Chateau’s restaurant. Owner, Patrick Revoyre, his family and staff will offer a warm welcome and be available to assist us with any needs we may have.

Chef Franz and his staff will lead our four unique, 2-hour hand’s on classes. Classes begin at 9:30 a.m. after you have enjoyed a traditional French country breakfast, Le Petit dejeuner.

Classes will offer you instruction in traditional Bourgogne cooking. During each cooking class we will prepare both a 2 course lunch and 2 course dinner, including such classics as Escargots, Coq au Vin, Beef Bourguignon, Cassoulet, gorgeous wine sauces, Crepe Suzette and Wine Poached Pears, just to name a few.

Following class we will enjoy our creations in a lunch together, served to us in the dining room of the Chateau. Local farm products are delivered directly to the kitchen of the Chateau each day, creating a true farm to table experience. Chef Franz will share his recipes with us, converted from metric and translated. Classes are “hand's on” with individual interaction with Chef Franz and his staff, and for this reason classes are limited to a maximum of ten students. There are no restrictions on the number of non-student companions that would like to join us at the Chateau.

Should you have traveling companions who will not be participating in class, they would, of course, be invited to join us for lunch at a pre-fix rate.

Following lunch each day, you are free to enjoy the afternoon and evening as you choose. Within walking distance of the Chateau you will find Pouilly-Fuissé and Beaujolais wineries, an equestrian center, tennis courts, bicycling and walking paths. You can easily travel to the charming villages of Pouilly, Vinzelles and Loche. The choices are yours each day. Afternoon group events are planned and you are welcome to join these group outings. We'd love to have you and your transportation for these outings is included in your experience. Our plans include local wine tastings, a tour and tasting with a local artisan cheese producer, Cluny Abbey, breathtaking “Le Roche de Solutré”, and a visit to the George Deubeouf “Wine Hamlet” which offers something for everyone. The wine center offers tours and tasting’s. There is a superb stroll for garden lovers, a wine museum for history buffs, an antique train museum, in a restored train station, which includes the personal train car of Napoleon and Josephine. The museum provides interactive experiences, audio visual presentations and a simulated flight over the Beaujolias landscape. At day's end we return to the Chateau to enjoy the dinner we've prepared in class.

As a traveler I have never appreciated having every moment of my day planned, and in this light I feel each of my guests should enjoy what will make their time in Burgundy a trip to remember. Along with the superb staff of the Chateau, I will be assisting you with transportation and reservations for the activities or events of your choice.

On our final full day together, our driver will pick us up at the Chateau following breakfast and take us into the Village of Chatillon so that we may experience their Saturday Street Market and its ancient historic setting, a full day of sightseeing, shopping and dining. Here again, once we arrive in Chatillon, you will be entirely free to explore the masterpieces of this city. Choices are endless and always yours.

Should you desire to have a final romantic dinner “à deux” before leaving or prefer to spend a festive evening with all of your classmates, once again, you will be able to decide. On the day of your departure your private driver will return you to the airport or train station at a time that is most convenient for your traveling needs.
